Distillation Columns
  • Critical in fractional distillation processes. They facilitate the separation of mixtures into their component parts based on differences in volatility. The column's design allows for the creation of a temperature gradient, where the bottom is hottest, and the temperature decreases as you move up. This setup enables the separation of components with varying boiling points.
  • Commonly used in chemical laboratories, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, and in the production of spirits and essential oils.
Distillation Receivers
  • Designed to collect the distilled product. They are often placed at the end of a distillation setup and can be simple containers or more complex designs allowing for the collection of different fractions without interrupting the process.
  • Integral to labs performing purification of liquids, solvent recovery, or collecting different fractions of a distillate in processes like essential oil extraction or chemical synthesis.
Distillation Traps
  • These are used to prevent liquids or solid particles from entering sensitive areas of the apparatus, such as vacuum pumps or analytical equipment. Traps can also capture undesired condensate, ensuring that only the intended distillate reaches the receiver.
  • Essential in maintaining the integrity of vacuum systems and protecting equipment in various laboratory distillation processes.
Complete Distillation Units
  • Comprehensive setups that include all necessary components for a distillation process - heating source, distillation column, condenser, receiver, and often control systems. These units provide an integrated solution for conducting distillation efficiently and safely.
  • Widely used in research and industrial laboratories for tasks such as solvent purification, water distillation, and the production of high-purity chemicals.
